There are two primary types of motorcycle insurance. The first is known as “liability only” and the second is known as “comprehensive” or “full coverage.”
Liability only coverage, also referred to as a “bodily injury liability” policy, is a type of motorcycle insurance that protects you from legal action should you accidentally injure someone while riding your motorcycle. This type of policy does not provide any protection for damage done to another person’s property or the damages you might cause while riding your motorcycle.
Full coverage insurance, also referred to as a “property damage liability” policy, does provide protection for damages you might inflict on someone else’s property. However, it doesn’t help pay for any harm done to you or any passengers traveling with you.
Determining which type of motorcycle insurance you need depends on how much coverage you want and the amount of coverage that is required in your state. Our agents are more than happy to help you find the perfect policy to protect your bike, and consultations are free, so be sure to contact us before you hit the road!
